Helping to Eliminate Summer Hunger with Food Drive in Sioux City

Give a little. Get a lot.

We’re honored to announce a summer food drive benefiting Food Bank of Siouxland. As part of our effort, Bite Squad drivers making deliveries will pick up eligible food donations from customers between 10:30 am on June 17 and 10:00 pm on June 30. As a thank you, customers who donate will get a coupon for free delivery on their next order.

You can also drop donations off at the following participating restaurant partner locations:

  • One-Eyed Jacks
  • Half Moon Bar & Grill
  • Horizons Family Restaurant
  • Table 32
  • Minervas Food & Cocktails
  • Sgt. Brew Grill and Pub
  • Bob Roe’s North End Zone

Why your support is so important.

“…no one should be without enough food to eat.”

“Recent studies indicate there are more than 25,000 food insecure individuals in the Sioux City area, including nearly 11,000 food insecure children,” said Linda Scheid, Executive Director at Food Bank of Siouxland. “Our BackPack and Mobile Pantry programs aim to provide that next meal for families because no one should be without enough food to eat.”

Here’s what you can donate.

Suggested donations include canned fish or meat, peanut butter, canned low-sodium soups or stews, canned or dry beans, canned fruits in juice or canned low-sodium vegetables.

Join us for a food drive!

Please join us at Horizon Family Restaurant (located at 1220 Tri View Ave, Sioux City, IA 51103) on June 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.! There will be food, music and prizes for those who bring food donations.

And it doesn’t stop there…

In addition to accepting donations during deliveries and at local partner restaurants, we’re also donating 10 percent of June sales (up to $5,000) from the Sioux City community to Food Bank of Siouxland. Each dollar donated secures 13 pounds of food for families in need.

We are excited to support the Sioux City community and invite our neighbors to do the same by participating in our End Summer Hunger Food Drive. If you’d like to help, get started now.
