Veteran Spotlight: Brendan Drallette

Thank you to our veterans.

“I’ve learned that every day is what you make it, and even though a day may be very stressful, you just have to take a deep breath and carry on.”

What was your role in the military?

I was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for more than 10 years working as a Crew Chief (Aircraft Mechanic on F-16’s), as well as Airfield Operations. I served all over including Minneapolis, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Arizona, Iraq and Qatar.

What was your most memorable moment of military service?

My most memorable moment in the Air Force was being deployed to Iraq in 2008 working 18 hour shifts with those I trained so hard with. It was a stressful and fun time that I will never forget—I become so close with my brothers and sisters who I served with.

How and when did you get started with Bite Squad?

I joined Bite Squad in 2017 after working six years at another delivery service in the Minneapolis area. I transitioned from overseeing dispatch, customer operations, driver recruitment and retention at a same-day delivery company to becoming Director of Dispatch for Bite Squad.

What has being in the military taught you that you apply to your job at Bite Squad?

I’ve learned that every day is what you make it, and even though a day may be very stressful, you just have to take a deep breath and carry on. Also, you only get so far without working as a team. We would fail our customers and drivers daily if the dispatch department did not operate as a unified team.

What do you like most about working at Bite Squad?

I love the people and the pace of Bite Squad. Working in a high growth active environment means that you never have a slow or predictable day.

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?

I enjoy spending time with my six-year old son and doing anything outdoors that I can. In the fall, you won’t find me too far away from a Michigan football game.

Can you share why you’re grateful for our Bite Squad drivers?

Bite Squad drivers are the tip of the spear, they are on the front lines each and every day dealing with bad weather, traffic, customers and restaurants. We can have the best technology in the world but without our drivers we have nothing. For that, I am very grateful.
