Give a little. Get a lot.
We’re honored to announce a summer food drive benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, a local member of Feeding America. As part of our effort, Bite Squad drivers making deliveries will pick up eligible food donations from customers between 10:30 am on May 20 and 10:00 pm on June 2. As a thank you, customers who donate will get a coupon for free delivery on their next order.
You can also drop donations off at the following participating restaurant partner locations.

Why your support is so important.
“…summer should mean fun, not worrying about food.”
“During the summer months, 1 in 6 children don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Rhonda Chafin, Executive Director at Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. “Our Summer Food Service Program aims to provide that next meal for these families because summer should mean fun, not worrying about food.”
In summer 2018, the food bank served 5,689 children through their Summer Food Service Program. The organization’s goal is to solve hunger in Northeast Tennessee by 2025.
Here’s what you can donate.
Suggested donations include shelf-stable items such as canned soups, beans and vegetables; canned chicken and fish; applesauce and fruit cups; cereal; granola bars; spaghetti; mac ‘n cheese; peanut butter; jelly; juice and more. For a list of top items needed by food shelves, read more here.
Join us for a food drive!
Please join us at Hooters (2288 N. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601) on Thursday, May 23 from 5-8 pm! There will be food, music and prizes for those who bring shelf-stable food donations.
And it doesn’t stop there…
In addition to accepting donations during deliveries and at local partner restaurants, we’re also donating 10 percent of May sales (up to $5,000) from the Tri-Cities region to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. Each dollar donated provides $8.68 worth of food for families in need.
We are excited to support the Tri-Cities community and invite our neighbors to do the same by participating in our End Summer Hunger Food Drive. If you’d like to help, get started now.
