Tucked inside the international wonderland of the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis is Fresco’s Pasta Bar. Fresco’s opened in 2008 with an extensive menu of sumptuous pastas, sandwiches and salads. There are build-your-own options for both salads and pastas, although there are so many choices on the menu that it may take you a while to work through them.
Heather Sawyer, the catering manager for Fresco’s (and Fresco’s parent company, Catering by Dani) notes that the eatery strives to offer traditional, ethnic and organic goods whenever possible. Among the popular delivery items are Shrimp Habanero (with capellini, shrimp, mushrooms and Parmesan cheese in an habanero cream sauce—get ready for some heat!) and Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo.
If you’re looking for something bright and fresh, they do offer an extensive list of salads, from classic to unique. Go for the Blue Pear Salad with mixed greens, pears, blue cheese, candied walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette or opt for a traditional Greek featuring olives, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and pepperoncini.
While those may be the most popular delivery items, there isn’t anything on the menu that Sawyer wouldn’t recommend for delivery. “All of our salads to go are sent out with dressing on the side, so the salad doesn’t get soggy,” she said. “We love to keep our customers happy, so we accommodate dietary needs.” Let Fresco’s know what restrictions you have when ordering, and they’ll welcome the opportunity to provide something delicious within your parameters.
As for other recommendations from Fresco’s, Sawyer has an additional piece of advice. “Our bread is also delicious, so be sure to order extra! All pastas come with bread.”
