Veteran Spotlight: David Crossett

Delivery Driver in Tampa, Florida

As a former Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army, David Crossett traveled much of the world with deployments to Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iraq during his 20 years of service.

In September of this year, David joined Bite Squad as a delivery driver in Tampa, Florida. Now, he’s traveling the city, putting a smile on the faces of customers one delivery at a time.

We recently sat down with David to talk about his military and Bite Squad experiences:

What was your most memorable moment of military service?
One was attending the ’88 Olympics in Soul, South Korea. Another was returning home to my family after Desert Storm.

What has being in the military taught you that you apply to your job at Bite Squad?
My time in the military has taught me to be flexible, compassionate and non-judgmental, which you need for this job.

What do you like most about working as a Bite Squad driver?
I like the stress-free work, and the ease of which the Bite Squad support staff makes our jobs as drivers easier.

Funniest moment on the job?
The funniest thing that has happened to me was when a customer’s dog ran up to me and put his muddy paws on my shirt, leaving two perfect paw prints on it. The owner kept apologizing, but the dog was so friendly and just wanted to play!

As a delivery driver, you never know where you will travel to and who you will meet–from new restaurants, to interesting customers, to parts of town you never knew about before.

With his worldly experiences and adaptable nature, we think David is a perfect addition to our delivery squad! And we’re privileged to honor his service to our nation.
