Lead Driver in Clarksville, TN
Spouse of a U.S. Army Sergeant, Taylor Lin knows the value of being flexible. Since her husband, Joshua, joined the Army three years ago as a combat medic, she’s learned to gracefully navigate the uncertainty inherent to military life.
“I can never have one plan,” said Taylor. “With any event I always have to have a backup plan A, B, C, and so on. Things are always unpredictable.”
Turns out her high adaptability, and a deep sense of empathy, make Taylor the perfect fit for her job as a lead driver in Clarksville, Tennessee. She’s been rocking this role since the market launched in July 2018.
We recently caught up with Taylor to hear about her experience as a military spouse and as a Bite Squad driver:
What have you experienced being a military spouse that you apply to your job at Bite Squad?
When I’m training new hires, it helps that I have an understanding of how unpredictable and inconsistent the military can be. We have tons of wives working for us, but they have to work around their husbands’ training schedules and crazy hours. I think me having a background with the military makes them feel more comfortable and confident in working for Bite Squad.
What do you like most about working as a Bite Squad driver?
I love the versatility! I love getting to create relationships with our restaurant partners. I have made awesome friends with some of our partners and visit them on my days off for lunch or dinner! I love that everyday is different and there’s always room for growth.
What’s a surprising/interesting thing you’ve learned about your community through this job?
Our senior citizens love their food delivery too! I’ve delivered to a few nursing and retirement homes and it makes me smile that they want french fries and ice cream just as much as I do.
Funniest moment on the job?
I delivered to a man that had a sign outside that said something along the lines of “My Rottweiler is my security system.” When he opened the door he said, “Hello! Do you want to see my Rottweiler puppies?!” And he stepped back to reveal six-week-old puppies and their mom standing nearby. It was completely unexpected and made me smile for the rest of the day. It’s not often you get to see adorable puppies.
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?
I have four dogs of my own. I love to spend time with them and take them on hikes. I’m also in school full time working on my MBA in marketing, so that keeps me busy!
Wow–military spouse, Bite Squad driver, student and dog mom! We feel super grateful to have Taylor Lin on our squad. And honored that she likes us too:
“Bite Squad is a wonderful company to work for, ” said Taylor. “They truly care for their employees and take pride in what they do. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this market and my career!”
