Bite Squad Plans Restaurant Delivery Service to Space by 2020

Far out!

Saturday, April 1, 2017. Bite Squad announced their preliminary partnership with the future of space travel, SpaceX. The restaurant delivery service focuses on bringing customers’ favorite food right to their home or office. Today they have announced plans to expand delivery service to the International Space Station by 2020. The service will travel on the back of SpaceX’s Falcon heavy rocket, co-branded with Bite Squad’s iconic green and white colors.

“We’ve always had a commitment to delivering our customers’ favorite foods, wherever they are. The brave team working on the International Space Station deserves the same great service,” said Kian Salehi, Bite Squad’s co-founder and CEO.

The delivery service will come from any restaurant in the Orlando restaurant delivery area currently serviced by Bite Squad.

In 2010 SpaceX became the first privately funded company to send a spacecraft to the international space station. Bite Squad plans on utilizing this technology so customers can finally enjoy their favorite food in zero gravity.

Today, it costs approximately $43,180 per pound to send an article to space (price does not include gratuity), but Bite Squad is willing to wave their booking fees for astronauts who are new to the service, offering a promo code “IMINSPACE.”

Bite Squad is also counting on the fuel-cell technology and aerodynamics research in progress at SpaceX to reduce their costs by the time the program launches.
